The
AMC Del Amo 18 movie theatre is part of the newly revitalized
Del Amo Fashion Center at 3525 Carson Street in Torrance, California. The
theater opened to the public on Friday, September 22, 2006. The new theatre
is part of a $300 million expansion of the Del Amo Fashion Center and is
located in the heart of the new open-air entertainment and retail promenade
wing on the east side of the mall. The new theatre will feature 18 auditoriums
with 3,200 seats. The stunning new two-story curved glass façade
provides a grand entrance into the new theatre and is a focal point of
the promenade. VNSM was brought into this project to perform the installations
of the aluminum composite panel canopy at the curved glass facade which
lines the perimeter
of the entrance and the installation of the aluminum
omposite panels at the theatre's ticket booth. Once moviegoers pass
under the entrance canopy into the theatre they will enjoy the new open
design concepts of the property including sensational high-mural celebrity
graphics and a modern-day rendition of the red carpet with classic movie
quotes inlaid into the crafted terrazzo flooring. In addition to the
aluminum composite panel canopy and ticket booth, VNSM was contracted
to perform the installation of the general sheet metal and metal panels
around the exterior perimeter of the building. VNSM's project management
team successfully met the aggressive construction milestones on the theatre and
the mall, to complete yet another successful project.
